VCF Mestalla return emptyhanded from Dagenham
VCF Mestalla lost a close game 1-0 against West Ham in their Premier League International Cup opener on Wednesday, enjoying chances at Victoria Road but not quite managing to find the net.
The Valencia CF second team conceded the only goal of the match in the 5th minute, as West Ham's Holland finished off a fast move. From there, Javi Jiménez, Pascu, Sergio Moreno and Noha all enjoyed opportunities as VCF Mestalla came alive. Chema Sanz' team were unable to grab an equaliser, however, and went into halftime a goal down.
The second half began with great intensity, as Noha NDombassi nearly capped a fantastic solo move with a successfull strike, however, his shot would hit the goalkeeper's body and stay out. Antonio Garcia and Sergio Moreno also tested Anang between the sticks for West Ham.
Despite being the dominant force in the game, and having further opportunities through Hugo Guillamón and Alfred Planas, there was no way through for VCF Mestalla, who returned from London emptyhanded but having experienced a first taste of this season's competition.
